Clarissa

Saturday, April 20th

8PM-11PM

This Chicago-based artist’s music is a reflection of diverse influences: neo-soul and old-school R&B, traditional jazz & blues, gospel, funk, hip-hop, and a sprinkling of salsa and Brazilian for good measure.  A sizzling presence live, her shows combine original material from her self-titled debut album with both classic and lesser-known soul, jazz, and blues covers.  Although Jazmin’s soulful yet sultry 3-octave voice constitutes the core of her appeal, she sets herself apart from the diva pack by singing in French, Spanish and Portuguese, playing flute and writing her own material. She also served as executive and co-producer of her CD.

Over the past two decades Jazmin has participated in a wide variety of live performances and recording projects in Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area, Paris and New York. She once collaborated on a song with Grammy Award-winning producer Narada Michael Walden, and has shared the stage with artists such as Angie Stone, Goapele, and Ledisi. She has enjoyed the honor of working with some of the aforementioned cities’ most renowned musicians, who themselves have toured with major acts such as Lauryn Hill, Ledisi, Beyoncé, Michael Bolton and more.

The evening also features burlesque by Ruby Spencer in between sets, followed by a late night DJ set by Barragoon.

Please note there is a $5 per person entertainment fee for tables seated within the main stage area (including the cabaret, backstage, and side stage).
